I actually thought that almost everybody were aware of the numerous health benefits of Cayenne pepper, until a friend surprised me today. While we were cooking, he told me that the Cayenne pepper is only for spicing the food and has no nutritional value. This prompted me to come up here to write this post.

Can you imagine eating a meal with no spices? I guess the food would be tasteless. The Cayenne pepper  which is one of the most common spices used in cooking is among the most commonly cultivated plant  in the world.

Botanically called Capsicum annuum, it has  varieties of names which includes Guinea spice,African chili,Aleva,Bird pepper and so on.

You may wonder why it's called bird's pepper. The reason is simply that birds love to eat Cayenne pepper. Isn't that strange? I think that should already tell you that the Cayenne pepper is very important. One would expect that it's peppery taste(actually called piquancy) will deter the birds from eating.
The bright colour of the Cayenne pepper is the first good thing to attract birds. Another, is that the tip of the Cayenne pepper is not so hot or peppery as people think.

The pepperiness(piquancy) from Cayenne pepper comes from a substance called Capsaicin which is sometimes used as pain reliever. Capsaicin has been extracted and synthesized and used as an analgesic in topical ointments,nasal sprays(Sinol-M) and dermal patches to relieve pain,typically in concentrations between 0.0025% and 0.25%

Cayenne pepper is good for the heart and circulatory system and can be a lifesaver in the event of a heart attack
Using Cayenne pepper regularly in your food or drink will improve your heart health as well as your venous structure.
It benefits the circulatory system in that it feeds the necessary elements into cell structure of the arteries,veins, and capillaries so that these regain the elasticity of youth again and the blood pressure comes to normal. You know we always think that Cayenne pepper is bad for Ulcer patients. The reverse is supposed to be the case because Cayenne pepper shouldn't be excluded from the diet of an ulcer patients for the same reason pointed out above.
